Lebanese President Michel Suleiman said that "setting the incidents quickly in Tripoli indicates the government's ability to maintain stability and that this test was successful in dealing with the security situation,"

In an interview with "An-Nahar" newspaper, Suleiman noted that "the civil peace is protected by political parties, and it appeared (in Tripoli) that there is a desire of both supporting and opposing parties to the cabinet in adjusting these incidents."

Describing the new government as "a new experience that can succeed with performance, he said "it is an experience with a little sugar, not a government of national unity, as we used to have, but it consists of a certain balance of the middle direction. It is supposed to give a large production which depends on the governmental parties."

Suleiman added that "there is no problem between 14 March Forces and him."
"We protected ourselves from the inside through the formation of the government and Tripoli incidents were to be the most difficult if the government that is characterized by having an aim to protect civil peace, didn't start its work." He confirmed.
Stressing that there is neither malicious nor revenge in the government's act, Suleiman emphasized "that this does not mean that there is no accountability."

"If the government set administrative appointments based on revenge, it won't live," Suleiman explained concluding that "this government's life depends on its performance and whether it will be democratic, and institutionalized or not."

The President of the Republic reiterated that Syria was "not involved in the formation of the government and the balance of power imposed it and that the option was either the announcement of its formation or the resignation of Prime Minister Najib Mikati."
Suleiman revealed that he "would call for the resumption of a national dialogue that brings all parties to the negotiating table after the government gains confidence."
