Hashem: Indictment Timing Has Political Function

The "Development and Liberation Bloc" member MP Qassem Hashem said that "the government's approval of the ministerial statement is a key step to move to translating it by addressing many challenges on more than one political, economic and social, level."

Hashem emphasized that "the current developments require dealing realistically and objectively with the core issues addressing all crises, especially the economic crisis that has weighed the Lebanese people."

In a statement today, Hashem clarified "the timing of the indictment announcement, confirms that this decision and the International Tribunal has a political function away from truth and justice," adding that "March 14 forces and their foreign partners, search for proper time to gain cheap political interests at the expense of truth and good of the country."
