Yaalon Says September is All About Scare Tactics, Reaffirms No Need to Apologize to Turkey
On the level of a UN bid to recognize the Palestinian State, "Israeli" Vice Prime Minister, and Minister for Strategic Affairs, Moshe Yaalon said in an interview with Yedioth Ahronoth (ynetnew.com) that even the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is not interested in a UN declaration in this regard.
Yaalon stated, "I see a scarecrow in September. More threat that option; there is a series of scare tactics being used from within the coalition".
"They are scarecrows. September is one of them; even Abbas didn't initiate that option at a time when he knows the US can stop all aid to the Palestinians", Moshe Yaalon indicted, further adding that Abbas wouldn't wish for such a decision to be adapted, which would hinder the "Israeli" military practices in the West Bank.
Addressing the countries distancing away from "Israel", the "Israeli" Minister of Strategic Affairs indicated, ""Israel" is not isolated. When we explain ourselves the American and the world understand. More and more countries are distancing themselves, in Europe too. It is true that there will be an automatic majority but the moral bloc will for the most part distance itself".
In light of the Middle East Quartet meeting to discuss the matter of "Israeli"-Palestinian negotiations, Moshe Yaalon claimed that the aforementioned represents another threat in an attempt to "get more concessions out of "Israel" to appease the Palestinians so that they don't submit their declaration in September".
As for his entity's relation with Turkey, Yaalon affirmed during his interview with ynet.com, "The Palmer report doesn't benefit the Turks. That's hard for [Recep Tayyeb] Erdogan to accept".
He reiterated, "I told them outright: We have nothing to apologize for in light of provocations from a Turkish organization which could have been stopped by the Turkish government".
