An Irish delegation that traveled to Bahrain on a two-day fact mission to tackle the dilemma of detained doctors was described as "terrorist" by the Head of Bahrain Medical Society.

As the Irish delegation was wrapping up its mission, during which it intended to determine the condition of the more than a dozen detained medics and secure their release, it held a press conference to give facts of the situation in Bahrain.
However, the news conference started to fall apart after pro-regime doctors and reporters circled the Irish delegation in the hotel lobby demanding answers about their visit.

Former Irish Foreign Minister David Andrews, who was also part of the delegation, said "It's most unfortunate that we were bullied and intimidates by him and his representatives", with reference to Head of the Bahrain Medical Society Nabil al-Ansari.
Pro-regime al-Ansari described the Irish delegation as "one-sided" and "terrorist", although the delegation met with Bahraini regime officials before conducting any part of its mission.

Dr. Damain McCormack who led the Irish medical delegation affirmed to reporters, "We have not come to save Irish doctors. We came to Bahrain to help Bahrainis".
The Irish delegation condemned the Bahraini regime's attempt to detain 47 doctors, nurses, and paramedics, for being charged of supporting protesters during the pro-reform demonstrations taking part across the country.
McCormack denounced the Saudi-backed Bahraini force practiced against protesters, and reaffirmed that the detained doctors were only performing their professional duty.

The Irish Times reported on Friday that Bahrain's Health Minister Dr. Fatima al-Beloushi pledged to urge the Bahraini King to release 14 doctors of who are still in the regime's custody.
The Irish delegation stated that three of the detained doctors were trained at the Royal College of Surgeon in Ireland (RCSI). The delegation further criticized the RCSI for not presenting enough to help the detained doctors.
