Jumblatt Calls Hariri, Stresses on Dialogue

National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt revealed that he called former Prime Minister Saad Hariri thanking him for his latest stance on Jumblatt during his interview with "MTV" channel.
"An-Nahar" Lebanese news paper reported that Jumblatt, who returned along with Minister Ghazi Aridi from Moscow on Wednesday night, said that he heard moving words from Hariri but refused to give further details.
"I heard from him moving words and answers that I prefer to keep to myself," Jumblatt added.
Jumblatt uncovered that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has welcomed Hariri's statements and decision not to close the dialogue door with Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
"Lavrov advises the Lebanese not to take their country to the lines of tension," the National Struggle Front leader told "an- Nahar" stressing that "his behavior does not serve Lebanon."
Jumblatt unveiled that Russian military assistance to Lebanon has made a major leap forward. "It is even ready to help in the railway sector."
Concerning the internal political situation and differences, the MP stated that "the new political alignment should not prevent contacts between the different parties."
Stressing the importance of respecting the point of view of others and insisting on dialogue, Jumblatt called both "Hariri and Nasrallah to hold talks because we are compelled to coexist and no one could abolish the other."
Jumblatt expressed his support to Lebanese President Michel Suleiman's invitation for national dialogue, saying that it should be aimed at agreeing on the defense strategy on condition that arms are not used locally.
In addition, Jumblatt backed Prime Minister Najib Mikati's government that according to him "should not adopt reprisal policies against "March 14".".
