Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast stated on Tuesday that the US and Zionist regime are not favoring calm in Syria against what they wish for other regional countries.

In his weekly press conference, Mehmanparast called upon the Syrian people to pursue their demands through peaceful demonstrations, further stressing that there are evidences that prove the foreign interference in the current Syrian situation.
"Some trans-regional countries, including the US have been intervening in the Syrian developments and there is evidence of activity of armed groups guised as demonstrators", Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman affirmed.

He also noted the US ambassador to Damascus' presence among Syrian demonstrators, saying this stands as proof that the US is intervening in Syria's domestic developments.

On another level, concerning the Iranian Nuclear status, Spokesman Ramin Memanparast affirmed that there will be no delay in launching the Bushehr nuclear power plant, after remarks made by his Russian counterpart that stated a possible delay.

Regarding the visit of Russia's National Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev to Iran, Mehmanparast stated that the two sides will be holding negotiations on various levels, especially those related to mutual interests and regional developments.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman also added that Tehran and Moscow might discuss Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, and sign memorandums of understanding on different levels.

During the press conference, Mehmanparast also pointed out the Russian "step-by-step" approach that would enable Iran to take steps in addressing the questions raised by the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding its nuclear program.
Mehmanparast stated, "This plan has not yet been delivered to us. But we will study this offer once we receive it".
