After a five month delay, the "Israeli" Supreme Court dismissed last week an appeal presented by five soldiers in a lawsuit raised against "Jenin Jenin" Palestinian film director Mohammad Bakri.

In his film entitled "Jenin Jenin", Bakri shed the light on the brutal "Israeli" practices, and the massacre executed by the "Israeli" forces during the 2002 "Operation Defensive Shield" occupation of the Jenin refugee camp and other Palestinian towns in the West Bank.
In 2003, the group of "Israeli" soldiers raised a lawsuit against the Palestinian director, accusing him of deteriorating their image in the movie.

The Supreme Court's decision was mentioned in a 444-page book stating that even thought Bakri's film was hurtful to the feelings of the five soldiers, there was not provision under the law for them to bring a civil claim against Bakri, because the film made reference to the "Israeli" army's operations in Jenin as a whole and not to any specific soldier, The Jerusalem Post reported.

"In the final analysis, it is my belief that a reasonable person viewing the film would not recognize any slander against any single soldier belonging to the group of soldiers fighting in Jenin", the court judge added.

Interesting enough, the "Israeli" court dismissal was not held in a public hearing as usual, but rather was issued online in an attempt to bury the loss of the "Israeli" soldiers against Bakri in their own lawsuit. This also attempted to steal the spotlight from the "Jenin Jenin" director after he won against the "Israeli" enemy in his lawsuit battle.
