Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast referred in his weekly press conference on Tuesday to allegations of the travel of a member of Libyan National Transitional Council to Iran, affirming that "so far we have not received the information to verify this issue", Iranian Republic News Agency reported.
On the level of the crackdown witnessed in Libya, Mehmanparast called for halting military violence and attacks in Libya, urging all concerned authorities to do their best to stop the ongoing violence in their impoverished country.
Furthermore, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman stressed that the NATO meddling in Libya is considered "wide of the mark", calling for the end of the US-led NATO attacks targeting innocent Libyan civilians.
On another level, Mehmanparast reiterated that the US sanctions against Iran are "fruitless and repetitive measure" that aim at having Tehran under more pressure".
"Sanctions are unable to stop Iranian progress. [...] Iranian nation will change sanctions into opportunities", Mehmanparast reaffirmed.
Regarding the recent exchange in delegations between Tehran and Moscow, Mehmanparast praised this issue saying it indicates its importance on the level of hoped mutual cooperation and bilateral relation enhancement.
