“Israel Defense”: Iron Dome Systems Not Hermetically Sealed
The Zionist website "Israel Defense" published a report in which it revealed the performance of the Iran Dome system in recent days, especially in light of current fire exchange witnessed between Gaza and the occupied territories.
"Israel Defense" stated that the "Iron Dome" system deployed in the southern area of the occupied territories, have so far intercepted 20 rockets, most of which were Grads.
The website indicated that over 100 rockets were fired at the occupied territories from Gaza, following the operation conducted by Palestinian sanctions near Eilat.
On this level, the "Israeli" military website also added, "Despite its 90% success rate for intercepting rockets, it is now clear that the protection provided by the Iron Dome system is not hermetically sealed". It added that the "Israeli" War Ministry has promised to field an additional four systems by 2013 "in order to improve the interceptors' coverage".
According to the "Israeli" Rafael Advanced Defense Systems that developed and manufactured the Iron Dome, it said that it increased efforts to provide additional systems during 2013.
During the exchanged fire between the "Israeli" enemy and the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, the "Israeli" War Minister Ehud Barak visited on Sunday one of the Iron Dome sites near occupied Asqalan (Ashkelon). Barak confirmed that within weeks, a third Iron Dome system would be placed, further expressing hope that by 2013, nine Iron Dome batteries would be "combat ready".
