United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon confirmed on Friday night that he will be postponing the delivery of the UN report over the "Israeli" raid on the Gaza-bound flotilla. The attack occurred on May 31, 2010, and killed nine Turkish activists.

In this context, Ki-moon said that the reason behind the delay was to give the two governments more time to reach a "harmonious agreement" on the fining of the Palmer report, the Associated Press reported.
"It is important that these two countries improve their bilateral relationship", Ban Ki-moon told reporters, adding, "That is why I have given additional time".

However, UN Secretary General pointed out that "Israel" and Turkey both have very limited time with the September General Assembly ministerial meeting coming up.
The Palmer report has already been postponed twine in the past, also in an attempt to try and sooth the dispute between both sides.

Since the attack on the Turkish-led Freedom Flotilla, Ankara has been demanding an official "Israeli" apology and compensations for the families of the killed activists, ruling out any attempt to normalize ties with "Israel". On its part, "Israel" has stressed that it will not apologize to Turkey.
