Staff members of the "Israeli" embassies across Europe, are now learning how to enhance their online messages, especially on social networks, as they are preparing for the UN vote on Palestinian statehood bid in September.

Some 60 staff members of the embassies are raking part in the seminar held in Brussels, which aims at training them "on the combination between public diplomacy and online media", Yedioth Ahronoth website reported.
During the seminar, the diplomats would learn how to exploit online media through social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, and public affairs activities. The seminar also trains them how to use search engines to increase exposure of "Israeli" messages, the news website added.

David Saranga, an organizer of the Brussels-held seminar, said, "More than 80% of articles that are read in newspapers are traditional media outlets originate from such social networks as Facebook and Twitter".
"Our purpose is to upgrade the pro-"Israeli" coalition's abilities in Europe, particularly ahead of September", he added.

Furthermore, Saranga pointed out that EU countries are not all considered to be of one direction and stance, stating that the public opinion in Britain and France differs from the public opinion in Italy or Poland, where the latter two are more sympathetic towards "Israel".

"That is why our purpose is to see how we can adjust the "Israeli" message to each of these countries and reach the ultimate combination between public diplomacy and the tools provided by social networks", the seminar organizer further noted.
