OIC Slams UN Flotilla Report
The Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu slammed the UN Palmer inquiry into investigating the 31 May 2010 "Israeli" attack on the Turkish flotilla, calling upon the international community to pressure "Israel" into lifting the illegal siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
Ihsanoglu reminded that the UN Human Rights Council Resolution adopted in June 2010, calls upon the "Israeli" occupation to ensure the unimpeded provision of humanitarian assistance, including food, fuel and medical treatment to the occupied Gaza strip, and urges for the full accountability and credible independent inquiries into these attacks.
Furthermore, the OIC Secretary General stated that the UN Panel of Inquiry's report "failed to reflect an objective and unbiased position as it considered the "Israeli" blockade of Gaza legal".
He added that the OIC cannot accept any report that would "whitewash" "Israel's" attack on the Gaza-bound humanitarian Freedom Flotilla, and ignore the "Israeli" illegal blockade against the Palestinians.
On this level, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu stressed that "Israel" should be obliged to lift this siege, and be held accountable for its illegal actions.
