“Israeli” UN Envoy Meets 70 Counterparts to Convince Foiling PA Bid
As part of the "Israeli" campaign to foil the Palestinian statehood bid at the UN, the "Israeli" Ambassador Ron Prosor to the UN held 70 meetings with his counterparts trying to convince them to vote against the bid.
Prosor claimed that the Palestinian step is a unilateral move that will not lead to an independent Palestinian State, but will "lead to bloodshed in the region".
Furthermore, in an interview with "Israeli" daily Maariv, Prosor stated that "Israel" is very active in lobbying against the Palestinian decision, stressing it would do anything to foil the Palestinian attempt.
Moreover, the "Israeli" Ambassador added that his meetings with his counterparts aimed at convincing them that the only means for peace is through negotiations; although negotiations have proved to be useless.
Despite that 140 member states have supported the Palestinian bid so far, the US has announced on Thursday that it will Veto the Palestinian statehood decision had it been approved in September.
