European Diplomat: Syrian Regime Showed Clear Coherence, No Real Results Were Achieved

A European diplomat commented on the Syrian situation by saying that the Syrian regime showed a clear coherence.

"Nothing occurred of some people hopes concerning splits or disobedience that can influence the turn of events," the European diplomat clarified.

In an interview with "as-Safir" Lebanese daily, he warned that "political and field realities do not suggest that any of Yemen Egypt, Tunisia, or Libya models can be achieved in Syria."

Stressing that "a European belief began to take hold of the need to review the approach of dealing with the Syrian event," the European diplomat pointed out that "this doesn't mean a slackening by the European Union countries, led by France in a policy of hostility against Damascus."

He also stated that embassies weekly reports based on interviews and observations indicate a significant decline in the number of demonstrators.
"In the last six months, no real results were achieved on the ground," he concluded.
