Terrorists Assassinate Syrian Grand Mufti’s Son, A University Professor
"Syrian Grand Mufti Ahmed Badreddin Hassoun's son and history professor Mohammed al-Omar were killed Sunday by gunfire from a group of armed terrorists," Syria's news agency SANA reported.
A source at Idelb Police Command informed SANA that a terrorist group set up an ambush for al-Omar's car near Ebla University and opened fire at it which resulted in the martyrdom of Dr. al-Omar and the injury of the son of the Grand Mufti.
Dr. Mohammad Deeb al-Haj, thoracic surgery specialist at Idleb National Hospital, said that Hassoun sustained a gunshot to the back, causing him to die due to extensive bleeding.
"Armed terrorist groups in Homs killed Chairman of Thoracic Surgery Department at Homs National Hospital Dr. Hassan Eid on September 25th, Engineer Aws Abdel Karim Khalil, a nuclear engineering specialist and charge d'affaires at al-Baath University on September 28th, and Deputy Dean of the Architecture Faculty Mohammad Ali Aqil on September 26," SANA reported.
