Mekdad: Syria to Propose Evidences against Western, ’’Israeli’’ Organized Campaign
Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister, Faisal Mekdad, announced that his country will submit to the Human Rights Council all evidences of the invalidity of claims made organized campaign led by the Western countries and "Israel" that Syria is violating human rights.
Mekdad, who heads the National Committee to prepare the Syrian report to the Human Rights Council, said in an interview to "ath-Awra" newspaper that "the Syrian National Committee had completed its report two months ago, dealing with all matters related to human rights in Syria, from different political, cultural and social aspects."
"The report will deal with the Syrian developments in transparency and will point out to achievements over the past years," the diplomat explained adding that "this report will also deal with the current weak points and ambitions set by the Syrian leadership as part of the President Bashar al-Assad's reform plan."
"Syria will remain a symbol of political pluralism, democracy, media transparency, and human rights in the region,” he concluded.
