The Islamic Republic of Iran rejected US accusation that accused it of being involved in plotting the assassination of the Saudi ambassador in Washington, affirming it was a "prefabricated scenario".

In this context, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Ramin Mehmanparast stated on Tuesday that such claims merely are based on the joint hostile stances which are adopted by the US and "Israel" against Iran.
"These threadbare attitudes, which are based on the age-old and hostile American-Zionist policies, are a ridiculous show in line which certain scenario fabrication of divisive ends on the part of the enemies of Islam and the region", Mehmanparast indicated.

Moreover, he stressed that plotters of such scenarios seek division and help the Zionist entity out of its current isolation.

On another hand, and in a letter addressed to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the Iranian envoy to the UN Mohammad Khazaei also rejected the US allegations, believing they are politically motivated, IRNA reported.
"The Iranian nation seeks a world free from terrorism and considers the current US warmongering and propaganda against Iran as a threat not just against Iran but to the peace and stability in the Persia Gulf region", the letter read.

On his part, Deputy Head of Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission General Ismail Kothari considered that accusing two Iranians of planning an operation to target figures and embassies in the US, is something that cannot be accredited.

He further stressed that this enrolls as part of the propaganda and psychological warfare that aims at triggering conflict between Iran and Arab countries, especially Saudi Arabia at a time when the region is witnessing an Islamic awakening against the US-Zionist scheme.

Furthermore, General Kothari added that his country does not believe in violence, and it is not part of its doctrine to operate terrorist operations, however Iran has been the biggest victim of international terrorism through the threat and siege imposed on it since three decades.
Deputy Head of Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission went on to say that the aforementioned US accusation comes coinciding with the European sanctions imposed on Iran in order to compensate the US losses after ousting its allies in Egypt and Tunisia.

The US Justice Department accused Iran earlier of being involved in a plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Washington, Adel al-Jubeir, claiming that they received help from a Mexican drug group.

Iran involed with drug cartel

i find this hard to believe,a"mexican drug cartel" to kill an ambassador? Highly doubtful, good way to ferret out drug lords but after the WMD fiasco with Iraq I'll say its another trick of the U.S. to use any excuse to get that black gold (OIL) that flows under Iran.
