Salehi Warns: US Fabricated Crisis in Region
Local Editor
Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi warned of the latest anti-Iran publicity campaign by the US government, saying it created a "fabricated" crisis in the region.
In a Tuesday meeting with ambassadors and representatives of international organizations in Tehran, Salehi called on independent and peace-seeking countries to adopt a tactful posture and refrain from taking a hasty stance on the issue, IRNA reported.
He called on the countries to help prevent the fabrication of a crisis which could undermine regional and global peace and stability.
The minister strongly condemned the political moves by US officials to level allegations against Iranian organizations "based on suspicious remarks by an individual whose real identity has not been disclosed."
He further stated that Washington's 'evil scenario' is intended to tarnish Iran's ties with its Arab neighbors, to prop up the unsuccessful coalition of certain Western states to impose illegal sanctions on Iran and to help Washington regain its 'lost' position in the sensitive Middle East region.
He further cautioned the international community to remain vigilant in the face of such baseless allegations which threaten global order, peace and security.

Salehi emphasized that regional and international stability have always been a top priority in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran as the country has been a victim of terrorism itself.
In its latest measures against Iran, the US on October 11 accused Tehran on Tuesday of involvement in a plot to assassinate Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Washington Adel Al-Jubeir with help from a suspected member of a Mexican drug cartel.
