A Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC) official announced that the ousted Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi died after he was captured and wounded in both legs as the NTC forces seized Sirte.

Another NTC field official indicated on Thursday, that Gaddafi died while being transferred to the city of Misrata in the ambulance. According to foreign news agencies, quoting medical sources, former Libyan Defense Minister Abu Bakr Yunis also died in Sirte.

This comes a short while after the NTC previously announced its full control over Sirte, and capturing Gaddafi.
