Hizbullah Deputy Leader: the pro-government party is rejecting participation
Source: NowLebanon, 15-01-2008
Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheik Naim Qassem said that the crisis in Lebanon is the primary cause of the government's loss of its constitutionality, for it was based on participation.
"The withdrawal of Shia ministers and resigned Minister Yacoub Sarraf made the government unconstitutional and illegitimate," he noted.
"The solution must be based on participation," he added.
Qassem noted that all discussions and solutions from the pro-government party excluded the principle of participation.
"Meanwhile, the opposition suggested participation, whether on the basis of parliamentary or popular representation," he noted.
He also said that the pro-government party is rejecting early legislative elections out of fear of defeat.
