US Warns “Israel” of al-Quds Constructions, Says Will Aid Palestinian UN Bid
The US has urged the "Israeli" enemy on Wednesday to stop a plan to construct new settlement units in the Gilo neighborhood in the occupied city of al-Quds (Jerusalem).
According to the US, such a move would harm US efforts to thwart the Palestinian bid for statehood at the UN, Haaretz reported.
Furthermore, US Ambassador to "Israel", Dan Shapiro, met with "Israel's" Interior Minister Eli Yishai, and urges him to shelf the Gila construction plan, warning it would push international support towards the Palestinians in their UN bid.
In this context, Yishai rejected the US Ambassador's request, stating that constructions in al-Quds (Jerusalem) have never stopped, and will not stop now.
"Israel's" so-called Jerusalem (al-Quds) District Planning Committee announced last month, that it will be approving the construction of some 1,100 news housing posts in the Gilo neighborhood, despite US and international objection and criticism.
