Iranian Foreign Minister Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast described on Thursday the recent statements by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as "unfounded".

"Mrs. Clinton's lack of information about Iran's issues is not something new.
Hence, we recommend her and the US officials to quit accusing others and instead relinquish their suppression of American citizens to avoid oppressing their own people. The US should also avoid continuing its interfering policies in internal affairs of other countries", Mehmanparast stated according to IRNA.

"The US officials should try to meet the demands of their people, especially the younger generation who have participated in the Occupy Wall Street movement", IRNA further quoted Mehmanparast as saying.
Moreover, he noted that the US government should respect the popular uprising and Islamic awakening in the Middle East and North Africa by "discontinuing its support for the puppet regimes and halting its military presence in those countries".

Regarding the US scenario accusing Iran of plotting an assassination against Saudi Ambassador in Washington Adel al-Jubeir, Mehmanparast stressed that his country has been and still is committed to international conventions and regulations, while the US hasn't been committed.
In this context, Mehmanparast denounced the US political pressures imposed on some countries, which were victims of the US domination.

The US had previously accused Iran of interfering in other nations' affairs, and warned the Islamic Republic to stay out of Iraq when US troops withdraw.
