Larijani Warns West of Harmful Acts, Denounces IAEA Report
Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani stated that the western schemes plotted against the Iranian nuclear program are harmful acts, and if implemented, will have serious consequences.
In a statement he delivered on Wednesday, Speaker Larijani indicated, "The Iranian nation is prepared for everything, and we seem the mischievous acts of the Zionist regime, the United States and the West as moves replete with thoughtlessness".
Furthermore, he described the report published by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the Iranian nuclear program as a "hasty move in collaboration with the US and its allies", Fars News Agency reported.
Larijani referred to remarks of US President Barack Obama and his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy regarding the "imminent release of" the IAEA report, indicating, "It seems that Obama made a mistake to make such a statement, because Obama's remarks show that the IAEA and Washington has collaborated on this issue".
Moreover, Iran's Parliament Speaker criticized the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano for not mentioning the Iranian cooperation during investigations that were taking place regarding the Iranian nuclear file.
Regarding "Israeli" allegations that were taken into consideration in the IAEA report, Speaker Larijani stressed, "Is the Zionist entity an IAEA member that makes Amano say he obtained details of his report through the agency's member states?"
He went on to say that the Iranian nuclear program was a "national issue", and the Iranian nation will not abandon.
