Ahead of meeting International Atomic Energy Agency officials, "Israeli" war Minister Ehud Barak announced Thursday that "he was not very optimistic about the prospects of strong new sanctions against Iran."

In an interview with "Israel's" radio, Barak said: "I'm not very optimistic, there are difficulties in mobilizing will in the world. That's why we're working to convince foreign leaders to impose strong and concrete sanctions to stop Iran."

Speaking from Ottawa, where he is on a visit, Barak claimed that "Iran's nuclear program is not directed solely at "Israel", but against the entire world order."

"I don't delude myself that they are doing it just because of "Israel". They have their history of 4,000 years. They look around, they see the Indians are nuclear, the Chinese are nuclear, and Pakistan is nuclear..."Israel" allegedly has the military nuclear capability," he explained.

Calling for "no option to be taken off the table," Barak added that "this is also the position of the Europeans and Americans."

"I should not say anything more at this stage," "Israeli" War minister concluded.

Barak claimed that should Iran turn nuclear there would be no way of preventing Saudi Arabia, Turkey or Egypt from following suit.

"The Middle East with a nuclear Iran is a totally different place. That will open a new round of the nuclear arms race under much less responsible hands...It's too risky," "Israel's" War Minister said.
