Iran's permanent envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Ali-Asghar Soltanieh, considered that the recent report issued by the agency's Director Yokio Amano's "is not only unreal but also biased and politically motivated.

In a protest letter to Amano, published Friday on the eve of the second day meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors, Soltanieh said that "the agency's head should not politicize such technical organization as the IAEA through his biased and selective approach as is evidenced in his reports, which are in contradiction with the spirit of the charter."

"The IAEA Chief's protest to Iran's generous proposal for immediate cooperation and engagement with the IAEA before the Board's November 2011 session has raised serious questions on his plan to solve the issue and finish the endless process," he added.

Accusing the head of the United Nations' nuclear body of security leaks, the Iranian envoy warned that "such leaks expose the Iranian scientists and their families to the threat of assassination by the "Israeli" regime and United States of America's intelligence services."

He also slammed the agency for "releasing the report early to the United States, Britain and other countries as some of its contents were leaked to Western media before release on November 8."

"This is a clear violation of the IAEA staff regulation, the oath taken by the Director General upon his assumption of the post, as well as the spirit and letter of the Statute of the IAEA since all member states have to be treated equally," Soltanieh said in a his letter.

"My government reserves its legitimate rights ... to seek damages, monetary and otherwise, from the IAEA for any injury to persons and damages to property in my country that may arise from your unjustified, unfair and politically motivated reports and decisions that may be taken on the basis of such reports," the Iranian letter confirmed.
