New Bahraini Martyr in Photos, Violations Documented

Hours before an official commission was set to release its report into human rights abuses committed during months of protests, Bahraini regime continues its brutal crackdown against civilians.
The, 44 old, Bahraini citizen Abdalnabi Kazem al-Aqil was driving his car when harassed by mercenaries. Eye witnesses informed that they hit him on purpose and pushed his car to the wall of a building until he was martyred.
In the village of Sitra, news agencies reported that at least one anti-government protester, identified as Husain Abdullah, have been martyred after Bahraini troops fired tear gas to disperse demonstrators demanding an end to al-Khalifa rule.
This comes as Bahrain awaits the outcome of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry report.
Meanwhile, Bahraini human rights groups have released their own report documenting the brutal crushing of the Arab Spring protests in Bahrain.
This report documents the violations in Bahrain since February 14th, although crucial to note that due to lack of funding and manpower it was difficult to document all the cases that have occurred.
The 87 page report gives background to the situation, then identifies and document all the types of violations that took place, with the aim of putting out recommendations to the Bahraini government, as well as the EU, US, UN OHCHR and the ICC.
These recommendations are crucial to start a process of reconciliation and to stop the ongoing violence, including loss of civilian lives, taking place.
The Bahrain Center for Human Rights and NGOs documented:
- 45 killings
- 1500 cases of arbitrary arrest
- 1866 cases of torture
- 500 prisoner of conscience
- Destruction of more than 40 worship places
- 2710 summary sackings
- 500 in exile
- 3 men on death row
- 477 students expelled.
