The head of the Arab League delegation of observers stressed Wednesday that the situation in the flashpoint city of Homs was "reassuring so far."
"The situation seemed reassuring so far," Sudanese General Mustafa Dabi told Reuters.

"(Tuesday) yesterday was quiet and there were no clashes. We did not see tanks but we did see some armored vehicles" he asserted pointing out that "This was only the first day and it will need investigation. We have 20 people who will be there for a long time."

Meanwhile, Arab League observers will deploy Wednesday in Hama and Idlib as well as Daraa.

"As of Wednesday evening, and from Thursday at dawn, the observers will deploy in Idlib and Hama (in the north) and in Daraa (south)," Dabi told Agence France Presse.

In parallel, four Syrian army troops were martyred in a terrorist ambush in southern Daraa.

"At least four Syrian soldiers were killed and 12 others wounded when a joint military-security convoy was ambushed Wednesday morning in an attack between Khirbet Ghazaleh and Dael," Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement received by AFP.
