Iran Launches New Satellite Into Orbit

The Islamic Republic of Iran successfully launched the "Navid-e Elm-o Sanat" satellite into orbit above Earth, the third since 2009, IRNA news agency reported.
Head of Iran's Space Organization, Hamid Fazeli stated, "The Navid Satellite was launched successfully... It will be placed into an orbit (at an altitude) between 250 and 370 kilometers".
The domestically-built Iranian satellite was launched on the third day of the 10-Day Dawn celebrations, marking the thirty third anniversary of the country's Islamic Revolution Victory of 1979.
According to Iranian media, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahemadinejad led the launch ceremony.
"It's the beginning of an immense labor... which holds the promise of friendship for all mankind", Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying.
The first two Iranian satellites were launched in February 2009 and July 2011, and were regarded as a great Iranian achievement, which unsettled the Western powers in light of the upgrading anti-Iran steps.
