Global Awakening Underway..Iran to More Success

February 11 marked the 33rd anniversary of Iran's 1979 revolution. It ended a generation of repressive rule under Washington's installed Reza Shah Pahlavi.
In Tehran, hundreds of thousands gathered in Azadi (Freedom) Square and Inqilab (Revolution) Square. Participants waved flags, carried placards, and chanted slogans on the memory of liberating their homeland from a repressive regime.
Some of the participants had their say to our website, as they expressed the importance of such a day to the nation and the world.
Commenting on the memory of what she called "Iran's major turning point", Saba said that Iran was liberated from an oppressive regime that abused the wealth and people of the country for its own sake. "The Shah enjoyed wealth and oppression while we had to suffer poverty and lack of freedom and descent life." The 35 year old Saba said that the Islamic revolution has brought Iran to a rank where its people have become more educated, developed, and aware of what is happening in this world.
As for Mahdi, a 29 year old young man who is finishing his Masters degree in chemical engineering, he noted that the Islamic revolution was the beginning to an Islamic awakening that has blossomed around the world.
"We, as Iranians suffered many years of oppression, to our US- supported government (Shah's government) we were almost non-existent. The Imam Khomeini's Islamic revolution freed our people and allowed us to use our natural and human resources to become a better country governed under a divine constitution, which is best to humanity," he pointed out.
40 year old Ali Reza, for his part, expressed that even children now understand the path of the Islamic Revolution, noting that this was a blessing to the Islamic Republic.
"The Islamic revolution has brought wellbeing and wealth to our country, and has enabled us to be strong enough to defend ourselves and also support the oppressed around the world, like the case with the Occupied Palestine, because this is what the message of Islam is about!"
He considered that the two Imams, Khamenei and Khomeini, have consecutively added riches on all the different levels to Iran, which has also become a major source to culture and sciences in the world.
Reza further underscored that this revolution has extended to reach other countries, as the world witnesses different uprisings against the oppressive regimes that have been depriving the people their rights and freedoms.
And so were the words of many other Iranians, males and females, young and old who reiterated what President Ahmadinejad had said, that "the huge global awakening is underway that aims at uprooting tyranny and oppression, and stressing that the Islamic revolution and its leaders have been guaranteeing justice, righteousness, prosperity, security, and dignity for everyone.
