Bahrainis Mark 1st Anniversary of Pearl Revolution

The peaceful anti-regime Bahrainis mark today Tuesday the first anniversary for their February 14 "Pearl" revolution, in light of the continuous escalating crackdown imposed by the regime forces on the peaceful protesters.
On this occasion, protesters started their way towards the Pearl Roundabout, which is the symbol of their revolution, in preparations for the grand gathering which is planned to be held in that area.
However, the regime forces stood in the face of the marching protesters, and attacked them with toxic teargas and sound grenades, therefore leading to clashed between the Bahraini demonstrators and police forces. Many injuries were reported, mainly due to teargas inhalations.
On another hand, many protests were organized in other regions in the country, during which Bahrainis called against the brutal crackdown of the Saudi-backed forces, demanding the downfall of the Al-Khalifa regime, and the release of all innocent detainees.
Moreover, pro-democracy crowds gathered in the "Freedom Square" in the al-Maqshaa area west of the capital Manama, in order to take part in the grand gathering organized by the Bahraini opposition parties, led by the leading party al-Wefaq.
Earlier last week, al-Wefaq party, along with the rest of the opposition parties, announced that the past week, until February 14, will constitute mass protests that will pave the way towards the festival marking the first anniversary of the Pearl Revolution, under the slogan "Steadfast and Will Not Bow".
