Lebanese al-Jadeed TV channel reported on Tuesday that workers in Lebanon's two GSM network companies revealed "eavesdropping equipments" that were installed on the network emission poles of both companies. The workers claimed that the said equipments belonged to the Internal Security Forces' (ISF) Information Branch.

However, according to al-Jadeed report, the equipment apparently belonged to the General Directorate of the ISF, and that the firm's Information Branch oversaw their installation.
On another hand, sources in the two mobile companies denied these reports while sources close to the telecommunications sectors confirmed them, indicating that these devices and equipment will soon be exposed to the public.

Moreover, the sources stressed that the installed equipment is directly linked to the Lebanese mobile telephone network and has the ability to form a private mobile network and access the state-owned network.
Also, the sources went on to say that while looking into this equipment, those involved in the Ministry of Telecommunications contacted the ISF Directorate General, which on its part revealed that the equipment belongs to it.
On this level, high-ranking sources in the ISF Directorate General denied this information, demanding the Ministry of Telecoms to reveal the equipment if it existed.
