Connelly Calls Lebanon to Protect Free Syrian Army

In a blatant inference in the Lebanese- Syrian relationships, US Ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly encouraged Lebanese authorities Tuesday to supply the Syrian dissenters, deserters, and members of the so-called Free Syrian Army with all their needs.
After meeting with Lebanese Interior Minister Marwan Charbel , Connelly "called for the protection of all Syrians, including members of the Free Syrian Army."
Reaffirming Washington's "concern for the disappearance and kidnappings of Syrian nationals in Lebanon," Connelly "recognized Lebanon's efforts to provide assistance to Syrians fleeing the violence in their country."
Connelly further called in her statement "Lebanese government to continue its cooperation with the international community and provide for the humanitarian needs and safety of all Syrians who have fled to Lebanon, including dissenters and deserters," it said.
In her talks with Charbel, Connelly stressed the Lebanese government's right and responsibility to secure its borders.
