President Suleiman: Crises Should be Peacefully Resolved in Consensus Among All Parties

Lebanese President Michel Suleiman confirmed that Lebanon was able to overcome many difficulties, including the recent financial crisis, as it was able to keep a self-distance from the negative repercussions of its surrounding tensions and crises.
Moreover, President Suleiman hoped that "these crises are peacefully resolved in consensus among all parties, and embraced by the Arab nature, in what meets the aspirations of the nations".
President Suleiman's remarks came in the ceremony held by the General Union of Arab Chambers marking its 60th anniversary since its establishment.
On this level, Lebanon's President confirmed that "The economic growth needs freedom, respect, and stability", adding that Lebanon was able to "avoid the economic and political repercussions because it is a liberal stabilized system".
"Our democratic system was a protecting wall", President Suleiman indicated.
Also, President Suleiman added, "The steadfastness of the Union [of Arab Chambers] also relies on the same freedom and openness, and according to happenings in history, the economic development is accompanied with the openness, freedom, and respect for human rights".
"We should realize that the economic and social growth is enough to develop freedom, justice, and maintain what the nations have achieved", he iterated.
On the judiciary level, President Suleiman called on developing the lawful texts and enhancing them in ways that would develop the Arab financial markets.
"In accordance with what the Union has assigned, this gives a great opportunity to link between the investors and the [economic] sector", he went on the say.
Furthermore, President Suleiman stressed on the importance of implementing new economic reforms, and giving the Arab women an opportunity to invest, further affirming the need to take care of the food and water security, which is "tomorrow's oil".
