US Army General Brooks Tours “Blue Line” Region in South Lebanon

After his meeting with Lebanese Army Commander Jean Qahwaji, US Army Central Command Commander General Vincent Brooks went on a convoy tour along the "Blue Line" on the border between Lebanon and the occupied territories.
The tour began after the US General arrived in a military helicopter to the southern city of Tyr, from where they headed, via US embassy vehicles, towards the Lebanese Army headquarters south of the Laytani River. At the army station, General Sadek Tleis received the US guest, and accompanied him to the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura village; the start point of his convoy tour.
US embassy vehicles, accompanied by Lebanese Army vehicles, started their way from Naqoura, through Alma al-Chaeb, Ramia, Aita al-Chaeb, Rmeich, and then Maroun al-Ras; where the convoy stopped at the garden from which the occupied Palestinian territories could be seen.
Meanwhile, an unusual calmness was witnessed on the "Israeli" part, for the absence of any "Israeli" movements and mobilization along the borders was significant.
Also, the US convoy tour continued throughout all the border line through the villages of Kfarkila and Odaisseh; precisely where clashes erupted between the Lebanese Army and the "Israeli" enemy in 2010.
Lebanese Army General Tleis explained to US General Brooks the details of the clashes, and how the "Blue Line" actually functions.
