Saheli: ’’March 14’’ Campaign Failed, Gov’t Proved Coherence, Strength

"Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc" MP Nawar Saheli viewed that "the level of discourse adopted by the minority MPs -during the three days of parliamentary sessions- was low in terms of intentions to account and attack the government."
In an interview with "al-Intiqad" website, the MP stressed that "the magic turned on the magician."
"The public opinion discovered that all the country's calamities and horrors resulted from this team [the opposition] that ruled for twenty years," he clarified.
Saheli further noted that "the current government isn't responsible for these suffers as it has been ruling for only ten months."
"The majority team was able to confirm solidarity and unity and to redirect the compass to its place by emphasizing that this heavy legacy is the result of "March 14" team," he stated.
The MP told "al-Intiqad" that "all "March 14" attempts to destabilize the government's confidence and to split the majority's team failed."
"After three days of continuous attack, the government was able to say that it is coherent and still enjoys the parliaments' confidence."
Moreover, the MP highlighted that the "confidence that Prime Minister Najib Mikati's government gained form a stimulation to begin to move from words to action, especially on the electricity subject."
He also urged the government to deal fast and seriously regarding the oil exploration, i.e. to ensure a qualitative leap for the country."
"The government will not be able to resolve all the dilemmas, especially that the very heavy legacy and the public debt is the result of long years of power and monopoly," the MP said.
In response to a question on the "Lebanese Phalange" MP Sami Gemayel's initiative to withhold confidence from the government, Saheli stated that "the majority had expected this from "March 14 ," pointing out "Gemayel always tries to distinguish himself from others."
"Perhaps he took the initiative without discussing it with his team," he added.
Concerning the escalated verbal campaign on the resistance's arms, the MP asserted that " the "Loyatly to Resistance bloc" decided to neglect all the lies and the nonsense that some MPs tried to mention."
"Without the resistance's arms, neither the parliament nor Lebanon would have existed,"Saheli confirmed, reiterating that "the speech against the resistance does not hurt it , but serves the enemy."
The MP also commented on the "National Struggle Front" position by saying that " MP Walid Jumblatt had already announced that he stands by the majority in terms of internal policy and the resistance."
"However, he distinguishes himself on the Syrian issue, and Thursday's confidence vote confirmed this," Saheli concluded.
