Bahraini Rights Activist Rajab Released on Bail

The prominent Bahraini human rights activist Nabeel Rajab was released on bail from the regime prisons on Monday, AFP reported Rajab's lawyer, Mohamamd al-Jishi, as saying.
Rajab was facing three separate trials on different charges; including taking part in anti-government gatherings, calling for holding rallies and writing tweets that opposed the regime.
Al-Jishi further told AFP that Rajab was bailed by 300 dinars ($796), yet still faces a travel ban, and his hearing over taking part in the "illegal" rallies was postponed until July 17.
On Monday, the human rights activist was released with a victorious spirit from the Manama police station, stating, "I was arrested because of my rights activities."
He reasserted that he will continue the demand rights and defend the oppressed, especially in his country.
Recently, Rajab's arrest by regime forces triggered concerns by human rights watchdogs and defenders, as more than 50 lawyers were ready to defend him in court.
On his part, Deputy Middle East director at the Human Rights Watch, Joe Stork, stated, "The charges against Nabeel Rajab are nothing more than attempts to silence one of the Bahraini government's most prominent critics."
