Amal-Hizbullah Meeting: Hails LA National Role, Urges Government to Follow-up Kidnapped Case

The leadership of both Amal and Hizbullah in Beirut held a coordination meeting to discuss the recent developments. After the meeting, the sides issued the following statement:
The two leaderships emphasize the priority of maintaining security and stability away from tension between all parties and sides. They also stress and hail the national role of the Lebanese Army and the need to support it from all sides in order to secure its presence as a unified national guarantee.
Moreover, both leaderships commented on the recent power outages.
"The recent harsh and unprecedented power cuts in the Southern Suburbs of Beirut resemble a heavy burden not only on the citizens who pay expensive accounts for generators, but also extend to threaten the safety of food and economic security as well as social and living conditions," they added.
Both Amal and Hizbullah warned that the electricity outages come days ahead of the Holy month of Ramadan.
As they viewed the citizens' complaints as justified, the two parties urged the concerned authorities to rush solutions and facilitate treatment according to the plans approved by both the Parliament and the government.
In parallel, the two sides confirmed that "blocking roads and burning tires will only worsen health and environmental burdens on the citizen who will pay the price twice."
On another level, both Amal and Hizbullah leaderships stressed that the issue of kidnapped men in Syria is a general national cause.
They also called the government to stand by the Lebanese people and deal seriously with the case by considering it a priority that requires a clear political and diplomatic follow-up.
