"Israel" Labeled Bags in Beirut Sore, Whom To React?!

Local Editor
"Israel" labeled bags are the latest Lebanese fashion. This isn't a mockery but a reality that needs an official response.
According to " the Daily Star" Lebanese newspaper, US store American Eagle Outfitters distributed bags labeled "Israel" for a brief period in its recently opened second branch on Beirut's Hamra Street.
However, despite Lebanon's Anti-"Israeli" Boycott Law prohibits any dealings with "Israelis", no legal action was reported against the American store.
American Eagle's bags are usually labeled with the relevant country or city.
In attempt to absorb of the wrath against the move, one of the Kaslik store's employees told "The Daily Star" that "it happened by mistake in our Hamra branch, and we immediately pulled the product from the market."
In response, BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) activists in Beirut issued a statement earlier this week saying the incident occurred before Eid al-Fitr in August, and that they were following up on the issue.
Samah Idriss, a BDS campaigner in Lebanon, told The Daily Star "We got a call from one of the customers. She told us she hadn't taken notice of what was written on the bag until she got home."
Idriss said that the BDS group acquired one of the bags, and is currently arranging a meeting with the "Israel" Boycott Office in Lebanon to report the incident.
"The bags might have been pulled from the market, but that doesn't mean they weren't distributed, even if only for a small period of time," Idriss said.
A Lebanese blogger under the name of "A Separate State of Mind" published a photo of the bag Wednesday, writing "this is the shopping bag one of my Facebook friends came back with after dropping by for a little shopping at American Eagle. Yes, this is in Lebanon."
"While I'm not the most panicky about "Israel"-related things in Lebanon, I do find this very odd. How were these shopping bags even allowed to be printed, imported and used? Didn't the workers there notice something odd, like their country's sworn mortal enemy plastered all over them?" he wrote.
