Head of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" bloc MP Mohammad Raad confirmed Sunday that "anyone who proposes an electoral law independent of the Taef Accord not only denies national accord but also abandons national unity and stands alone for the sake of his personal interests."

In his speech in a graduation ceremony at Nabatiyeh Southern city, Raad highlighted that " these interests are at many times at the expense of one's own sect."
He further wondered "if they differ on electoral law formulas, don't they agree on the Taef Accord? Hadn't they recognized it as a standard for their political lives?"

"One standard should be followed when formulating the electoral law, otherwise strife may ensue, especially if an electoral law was adopted which did not fully support the Taef agreement," Raad added.
In parallel, he clarified that "the Taef agreement calls for an electoral formula that leads to a broad and comprehensive representation, to be achieved through adopting provinces after reconsidering them."

"This means that that Taef agreement dismissed smaller districts for not offering optimal representation," he mentioned.
In another context, the MP stressed "the multiplicity of standards in the West is behind the law that criminalizes who denies or undermines the Holocaust hyperbole propaganda while it exonerates those who offend our Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)."

"These are the same standards that made the West fund militants to sabotage the Arab countries while arming the resistance in Palestine turns to terrorism," Raad emphasized.
