Sahili Calls for Immediate Investigation on Internal Security Forces Assault in Arsal

Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc member MP Nawwar Sahilli demanded the government to open an immediate investigation regarding the attack on the Lebanese Internal Security forces in Arsal Village, and apprehend those who are involved. He called on units of the Lebanese Army and Security forces to be on optimal alert to protect the borders from assaulters.

During a seminar held on al-Ghadir Great Eid occasion in Kouakh village, Hermel, Sahili censured some March 14 forces who preach of liberty, independence, and sovereignty, while they did not release a single statement condemning this flagrant assault against the Security Forces. He stated that if a similar event were to happen in Lebanon, they would not have let it slip easily.

"We do not say this because the incident happened in Arsal. If the assault were to occur elsewhere, we would assume the same stance," Sahili said.
On the first of November in Arsal village- Hermel Province, a group of men attempted to smuggle an injured Syrian rebel into Lebanon for hospitalization when they reached a checkpoint for the Internal Security Forces. The aforementioned individuals were then allowed to enter Lebanon together with the wounded man due to his medical condition.

Shortly after the incident, around 70 militants assaulted the checkpoint and beat the forces, injuring 12 with fractures, bruises, and other injuries, also fired at the checkpoint and a military vehicle.
