The Lebanese minister of Administrative Development Mohammed Fneish stressed that the issue of displaced Syrians and Palestinians should be approached on humanitarian grounds, without ignoring the security and social repercussions resulting from their high influx into Lebanon.
In an interview with as-Safir daily, Fneish reiterated that the displaced Syrians are our brothers.
"It is their right to take care of them, taking into account the available material resources available," he said.
In parallel, he noted that "the relief requirements greatly costs the Lebanese state, and we will discuss in the government's meeting today [Thursday] the state's ability to afford it."
