Member of Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, MP Nawwaf Moussawi stressed that the 1960s law is finished, invalid, and inexistent, pointing out that this law is dead and awaiting its burial.

Moreover, MP Moussawi renewed his party's determination to hold parliamentary elections, calling on the parliament to ratify an electoral law.
The MP further called on all political forces to provide the required and absolute support to the Lebanese Army in order for it to carry out its duties in protecting Lebanese and containing crises and security issues.

Furthermore, MP Moussawi demanded judicial authorities to prosecute sectarian speakers and "carry out procedures stipulated by the law towards them and defend national unity by prosecuting those who adopt sectarian provocation."
MP Moussawi described all sectarian speech as "against coexistence and the constitution," pointing out, "There are those who deal with "Israel" as if it were not its enemy; we witnessed an "Israeli" aggression on Lebanon by intensive aerial violations in Lebanese skies, and we never heard in return of any political party treating this matter as a violation of national sovereignty."

Furthermore, Moussawi questioned, "What do political officials do in office or in the opposition to face the "Israeli" threat?" underscoring, "As to the resistance, we state that it had always taken responsibility in defending Lebanon and never wasted an opportunity ever since August 14, 2006 to boost Lebanon's defense capabilities."

The member of Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc stated, "Events in Syria are actually an "Israeli" threat because the American and "Israeli" goal behind kindling the Syrian crisis is to drive it out of confronting "Israel" through destroying Syria and depleting the Syrian Army."

"We believe that if Syria gets out of this crisis, it will become qualitatively better than before," Moussawi further mentioned, calling on "all parties in Syria to sit down at the dialogue table and reach a political compromise."
"Lebanon faces a serious reality; the Syrian sparks might reach Lebanon, and Lebanese's responsibility is conveyed in protecting Lebanon," he added, emphasizing, "In this framework, we hold full responsibility to defend Lebanon in face of the dangers of the Syrian crisis."

"US intervention in Lebanese elections and imposing the 60s law is an insult to Lebanese and a violation of Lebanese sovereignty, since no one outside Lebanon is allowed to pry and dictate [Lebanese affairs]."

On another note, the MP noted, "Amidst this political commotion that Lebanese face every day, they almost forgot we are only a few years away of becoming a rich country since we are about to excavate gas and oil."
Moussawi concluded by reiterating that this oil resource is similar to the resistance's capability of self-defense; it will result not only in Lebanon's stability, but its growth too.
