The head of Hizbullah's Cyber-Media Unit, Dr. Hussein Rahhal, reiterated "Events in the region today aim at striking the resistance's strategic core."
In a memorial in the Southern village of Aaytit, Dr. Rahhal added, "The outcome [of this targeting] was failure, just like "Israel's" failure in July 1996 and 2006."
"The US, the West, and "Israel" work on secession, especially in Syria," he added, highlighting, "These parties gave the [so-called] Syrian opposition money and weaponry."

Rahhal: AL, Lebanese Gov’t Held Accountable on Hermel Events "These people are accessories to destroying Syria, bombing mosques and killing religious clergymen, where the latest murder was Sheikh Mohammad Said al-Bouti," Rahhal stated.

Moreover, Rahhal stressed that events in Hermel "are extremely dangerous, and Arab countries and the Arab League are held accountable. The Lebanese government must also hold full responsibility to the occurrence of these events."
For his part, member of Development and Liberation Bloc MP Ali Khreiss stated, "We live in a cruel world, especially in light of regional changes."
He further described this phase as "the most dangerous and most difficult phase we ever went through."
"We no longer hear statements of "Israel" being the enemy, stealing Palestinian territories and committing massacres, particularly on the scale of Arab leaderships. There is no longer a [firm] stance against "Israel", as if it were not the enemy," he added.

Moreover, Khreiss accentuated, "We cannot give up our [national pillars] because we believe in defending and maintaining national unity. Plots of sectarian secession between Sunnis and Shiites are only delusions that we will not be dragged into, because we learnt that the best way to fight the "Israeli" enemy is by civil peace."

Khreiss further stressed the role of the Lebanese Army that sacrificed martyrs so that Lebanon could survive against the Zionist enemy.
Responding to proposals of a technocrat or neutral government, he said, "Lebanon is governed by consensus and partnership. The government to be formed must be concurrent, so that it can play its role, perform its duties and face difficulties and risks."

On another note, Ali Khreiss stated, "There is an extreme division on any new electoral law. We have to work hard to find a concurrent electoral law. We hope that parties would agree on [Speaker of the Parliament] Nabih Berri's proposal of a 50/50 distribution [between a majority system and a proportionality system] before May 19."
