Hoss calls for national awareness to end crisis

BEIRUT: Former Prime Minister Salim Hoss on Tuesday called on the Lebanese to maintain "national awareness" to salvage the nation from the ongoing political deadlock. In an address to the Lebanese, Hoss said the crisis has threatened the nation's economy, raised unemployment and forced the youth to seek jobs in other countries. "The national economy is stumbling and has reached the limits of paralysis in certain sectors. Unemployment is spreading and soaring prices are hitting the people's standard of living," Hoss said. He added that the "security situation is on the verge of abyss."
