Raad Warns of Fait Accompli Gov’t: To Vote In Favor of Orthodox Proposal

Loyalty to Resistance Head MP Mohammad Raad reiterated Saturday Hizbullah's full support to the Orthodox Gathering electoral law proposal.
"Hizbullah will vote in favor of the Orthodox Gathering electoral draft is it was proposed during the parliamentary session, to be held on the 15th of May," he confirmed.
Raad further highlighted that "if this proposal was adopted, we will proceed by it succeeded pending Constitutional Comments and Appeals ahead of turning it into application."
However, he clarified that " if the proposal was not adopted, we will think about another electoral law with the least damage and cost."
"We hadn't agreed with our allies on a unique formula. There are many proposals" the MP said, and noted that "there is almost an understanding on the possibility of reaching an agreement on one of them."
On the government's formation, Raad asserted that "Hizbullah and its allies' demands in the government are not crippling."
"We see a true partnership in the government to which we nominated a premier-designate parallel to all who nominated him," he said.
In parallel, Raad confirmed : "It is our right to be represented in it according to our parliamentary weight. This is a moral, practical and constitutional right."
He further urged the other team not to try the formation of a fait accompli government "out of our keenness on the country and its stability."
