Wahhab: Saudi Arabia and Jumblatt are destroying Lebanon
Source: NowLebanon, 07-02-2008
Former Minister Wiam Wahhab said that MP Walid Jumblatt's statements reflect the Saudi king's intention to destroy Lebanon.
"Instead of paying money to redress the economic situation, he is seeking the destruction of Lebanon," Wahhab said.
He also accused Jumblatt of being an agent and of betraying his country. "An agent can accumulate money, but his sons and grandsons will definitely be ashamed of him and his legacy."
Wahhab told the Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar that there are two plans for Lebanon. "One of these plans must prevail, and the other must be defeated, or else the crisis will remain open-ended," he said.
"We must not promise people with illusions of a solution," he said.
Wahhab ruled out that a solution in Lebanon is pending a Saudi-Syrian rapprochement. "Saudi Arabia does not control its decisions because it is a US tool."
