Two Rockets Hit Baabda Area

At least two rockets struck areas near the Lebanese Presidential Palace in Baabda, east of Beirut, Thursday evening, without causing casualties.
The National News Agency reported that the rockets fell in the area of Rihanieh, falling into the swimming pool of a home belonging to Bassam Freiha, the CEO of Sayyad Publishing House. The home is located near the Presidential Palace and next door to the residence of the late former President Elias Hrawi.
According to media reports, the rocket landed in a sensitive area i.e. 50 meters away from the defense ministry" in Fayyadiyeh, and a 100 meters away from the presidential palace.
"The house of the army's intelligence director Brig. Gen. Edmond Fadel is close to the house of the Freiha family where one of the rockets landed," al-Jadeed TV said.
Another landed between the nearby town of Fayyadieh and the Baabda suburb of Yarze, but did not explode.
The NNA said the rockets were fired from an area near the town of Aramoun in Aley, in Mount Lebanon.
On June 21, two rocket launch pads were found in the Kesrouan area of Ballouneh after a rocket exploded in the Baabda town of Araya. The second rocket failed to launch.
