Mansour: Lebanon in the Target Zone
Local Editor
The Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government Adnan Mansour warned, "Lebanon is in the target zone because of the dormant terrorist cells in its territories, working in coordination with foreign sides to destabilize situations domestically."
In a radio interview, Mansour called for "responsibility and conscious and to hastily place a security plan that paralyzes the ability of terrorists."
"The explosion in al-Rouweiss area was a human massacre committed by terrorists, targeting all of Lebanon, not only the citizens residing in Beirut's Southern Suburbs," he added.
"Political vacuum negatively reflects the security, economic, and social situations in the country," Mansour further remarked.
Regarding the complaint that Lebanon submitted to the United Nation's Security Council on the "Israeli" assaults on Lebanese sovereignty, Mansour revealed "a record of no less than 140 violations monthly varying from ground to sea to air violations."
Moreover, Mansour dismissed that the Security Council could take a firm stance from "Israel" as long as there are countries that sympathize with it.
A terrorist explosion rocked Roweis area of the southern Suburb of Beirut, resulting in the martyrdom of 17 citizens, the injury of 270 others in addition to major damage in buildings and cars.
The Lebanese army confirmed the explosion was a car bomb, which caused severe damage. Plumes of smoke filled the sky, while hundreds of civilians from the neighborhood gathered to help fire fighters put out the flames. Glass of nearby buildings was shattered.
