Bahraini opposition al-Wefaq Association condemned the attack by regime forces that targeted detainees on Friday, which led to the injury of 40 people from shotguns and poisonous gas.

In a statement, al-Wefaq mentioned that it contacted the International Committee for the Red Cross and asked for urgent intervention to protect the detainees and reveal their fates quickly.

In addition, the "Bahraini Association for Human Rights" and the "Bahraini Center for Human Rights" sent urgent pleas to the Red Cross to protect the detainees and political prisoners being harassed and rights violated.

On another note, an official in Bahraini al-Wefaq Association - in a statement to "Meraat al-Bahrain" website - stated that the King's adviser Nabil al-Homor's tweets, in which he directed profane insults to Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem, could not have been published without the King's personal approval.
