Iran condemned twin car bombings that killed more than 35 people and wounded hundreds in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli.

Iran Condemns Tripoli ExplosionsForeign ministry spokesperson Abbas Araqchi was quoted as saying he "strongly condemned the terrorist attacks" which occurred outside two mosques during weekly Muslim prayers on Friday.

He denounced the "Takfiri extremist groups, who seek to sow division to undermine Lebanese national unity and the peaceful coexistence of different communities" in the country.
"The dirty hands of the Zionists have come out from the sleeve of irresponsible Takfiri and radical groups who intend to sow seeds of sedition, damage national unity and peaceful co-existence of different Lebanese ethnic groups, especially Islamic sects," Araqchi added.

In parallel, he urged responsible international organizations to condemn the terrorist act and try to find out hidden truth behind the ominous event by all means.
For his part, Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister for the Arab and African Affairs Hussein Amir Abdul-Lahian pointed out that the explosions that hit Tripoli came after an earlier strike by "Israel" on the area of al-Nameh south of Beirut.

"There is coordination between "Israel" and the Takfiri groups," the Iranian official stated.

Abdul-Lahian called the Islamic nation and political leaders to confront the takfiris in the region, saying that his country is ready to support the resistance in Lebanon.
